TIRANA, April 13/ATA/ Speaker of the Assembly Lindita Nikolla received today a representative group of the Union for Integration of former-Politically Persecuted of Albania.
The representatives of the Union presented to Speaker Nikolla the proposal for establishment in Tirana of the National Spot of Remembrance for the Missing during the communist regime.
They argued that this piece of land of remembrance is to honor and respect their memory as well as to extend a call of reconciliation to the society.
Nikolla congratulated the representatives of the Union for this initiative, fully supported the request and committed to forward this request to the relevant state institutions.
“This initiative, underlined Nikola, not only calms the souls of the missing during the communist regime and the families of their descendants, but is also a conciliatory call for society, to go away from the spirit of hatred and to move forward, to build a just, humane and solidarity society ”.
Speaker Nikolla and the representatives of the Union also discussed other aspects of cooperation of the Assembly with the associations of the former persecuted, for implementation of the obligations of the state and society towards them./p.s./
