PRISTINA, April 10 /ATA/ Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that security in Europe and the region after the Russian Federation aggression against Ukraine, as well as the intensification of cooperation between the Western Balkan countries, dominated the topics of meetings during the three days of the Economic Forum in the ancient city of Delphi, in Greece.
Kurti said that he met with the European Union Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue and other regional issues of the Western Balkans, Miroslav Lajcak, with whom “we talked about the progress of the dialogue process and the next steps in this process”.
Meanwhile, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Gabriel Escobar reaffirmed US support for Kosovo, its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and its aspirations for European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
At the end of the Forum, Kurti attended a luncheon hosted by the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis, together with the Prime Minister of North Macedonia Dimitar Kovacevski, the caretaker Prime Minister of Montenegro Zdravko Krivokapic, Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zoran Tegeltija and Prime Minister of Bulgaria Kiril Petkov.
“During lunch, we discussed the importance of fighting corruption, democratization of the region and European integration, as necessary pillars for peace and prosperity in the Balkans. We talked about the situation in Ukraine and about the solidarity and support for the liberation war of the Ukrainian people. I stressed that we must be vigilant in face of the close ties between the Russian Federation and Serbia and the danger they pose to the destabilization of the region. For long-term peace and stability, it is necessary to integrate the Western Balkans into the structures of the European Union and NATO as soon as possible and fully,” he said./p.s./
