Transparency Board sets new fuel prices in Albania

TIRANA, March 22 /ATA/ – The Transparency Board, a recently-established body to oversee the fuel prices in Albania’s domestic market, decided Tuesday to fix the retail oil price at 221 lek per litre until March 23.

At its yesterday’s meeting, the Board decided to fix the gasoline price at 211 lek per litre, whereas gas will cost 93 lek until March 23.

The last time the price of fuel was changed by the government was March 16, when they decided to fix the price of oil at 206 lek per liter and the price of gasoline at 203 lek per litre.

The Transparency Board was set up by the government earlier this month in a bid to curb any speculation on fuel prices as a result of the conflict in Ukraine.

The l Board includes representatives from the Finance and Economy Ministry, Infrastructure and Energy Ministry, the Directorate of Tax and Customs, the head of the Competition Authority, and representatives of major oil suppliers in the country.
