TIRANA, March 15 /ATA/ Citizens’ protest against the price hike has entered its seventh day on Tuesday.
Citizens gathered again on Tuesday afternoon on “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard, in Tirana, before the government building to protest against the increase in prices of fuel and staples driven by the war in Ukraine.
A student, who took the floor, said that, “the fees are high, transport operators have increased the price of tickets. The price of fuel should decrease even more.”
“If this burden falls on our parents, it falls on us. The price of staples has increased,” another young man said.
Another protester said, “We demand a reduction in prices, oil has decreased, but the price of staples continues to rise. The protests will continue until prices are slashed.”
The protesters stated that they will stand in front of the government building every afternoon at 17:00 hrs until their demands are taken into account.
