Celibashi: Voting started normally, process delayed in three polling stations in Shkodra due to severe weather

TIRANA, March 6 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ – The State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi said at a press conferences on Sunday that voting in mayoral by-elections in six municipalities is going fine in most polling stations and that Central Election Commission teams are monitoring the situation across all municipalities.

Celibashi also confirmed that the bad weather and issues with the electronic voting devices had caused some delay in Durrës and Dibër, but there have been no major disruptions.

“We are constantly monitoring the process in all polling stations. Minor problems were recorded in two voting centres in the villages of Shosh and Pult, Shkodra municipality, where voting process has yet to start, because of the absence of commissioners, who failed to show up due to the extreme weather conditions. Voters identification in a polling station in Shale is being carried out manually, without the use of electronic identification device,” he said.

Celibashi said that voting is continuing as usual in most of voting centers and also confirmed some minor incidents in Durres and Diber, assuring citizens that voting won’t be hampered.

CEC reports that 3.41% of voters had cast their ballots until 09:30 a.m.
