ABNA-SE expresses deepest concern over the recent developments in Ukraine

TIRANA, March 2 /ATA/ – The Association of Balkan News – South East European (ABNA-SE), of which the Albanian Telegraphic Agency is a full member, expresses its deepest concern over the latest developments in Ukraine, meanwhile expressing solidarity with colleagues on the front line.

”Presidency of Association of the Balkan News Agencies – South East Europe (ABNA-SE) held telephone consultations during which it expressed deepest concern over the recent developments in Ukraine.

ABNA SE condemns violence and aggression that brings great human suffering. Professionally, it is extremely concerning to witness press freedom being disregarded, censorship imposed by repressive state services and disinformation instead of objective news.
ABNA SE expresses solidarity with colleagues who are at the frontline and putting their very lives at risk during reporting from conflict zones. Journalists must not become targets and their safety must be ensured.
As during the peace, in times of war news agencies must emphasize the core of their mission – to provide unbiased news,” ABNA-SE said./ a.jor.
