Court ruling on Meta, Rama: Constitutional Court does not depend on government

TIRANA, February 18 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that he does not comment on court decisions.

In his reaction to a citizen’s comment on the Facebook on the ruling of the Constitutional Court to keep President Meta in office, PM Rama said that, “The Constitutional Court does not depend on the government.”

“The Constitutional Court does not depend on the government, dear Bajram, and I do not understand what vulnerable stance you are talking about because in fact the Constitutional Court came out against our decision! But, if you thought that I should also control the Constitutional Court, then this is not my fault, because my task is completely different.  And as long as we have chosen this system, we must also agree with the fact that independent powers can take decisions we do not like! I do not want to comment on the court rulings because it is not up to me. But, to claim that a court ruling that runs counter my stance, is a disappointment from me, this is completely absurd”, said Rama./m.m/j.p/p.s./
