TIRANA, Feb 18 /ATA/ The DP chairman, Lulzim Basha, and the DP candidate for Durrës mayor, Luan Hoti attended a meeting hosted by the Durrës Chamber of Commerce, with representatives of Durrës business.
Basha appreciated the fact that, “Durrës’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as Chambers of Commerce and Industry in some economic centers of Albania have shown their readiness for a genuine dialogue with the Democratic Party.”
Basha added that, “it was this dialogue that helped us work out some of the main solutions to the situation of the Albanian economy, solutions on which we have exhaustively elaborated last year.”
Basha said that, “ amid a particularly challenging time for Durrës, for the economy of Durrës, for Durrës families, the candidate Hoti has taken on a challenge of extraordinary proportions. Taking on the challenge of running for the responsibility of the mayor is a tough decision for anyone in any context, in any democracy.
“In our previous discussions we focused on the priorities of the Durrës economy as the second engine of Albania. We have come to conclusion that the devastating earthquake did not just hit Durrës, Durrës families, the Durrës economy, but it was a heavy blow to Albania and the Albanian economy as a whole. We came up with the national package, we came up with the package for Durrës. Together with Luan, Ferdinant Xhaferri, other political representatives of the Democratic Party, whether in the urban area, in the industrial area, in the rural areas of Durres municipality, we were with you not just to identify the damage, but to ask for promptly measures, ” said Basha.
Basha added that, “politics has lost its human face, politics has usurped institutions and institutions usurped by politics cannot serve the economy. That’s it! Then what to do? The first attempt is to restore a human face to politics.
