Tirana Mayor: Cooperation agreement with Foreign Languages Faculty, integration opportunity for university students

TIRANA, Feb 5 /ATA/ – Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj on Saturday received the Dean of the Foreign Languages Faculty, Esmeralda Kromidha, to sign a cooperation agreement designed to provide motivated students with the opportunity to work under an internship program at Tirana Municipality, especially this year when Tirana has been selected as the European Youth Capital.

“We want the Municipality of Tirana to become an integration opportunity for students, majority of who come from other cities. Tirana is still a developing city. We want to offer students with the opportunity to work under the Tirana Municipality’s internship programs,” Veliaj said.

Mayor Veliaj noted that the agreement with the Foreign Languages Faculty offers a fresh opportunity to university students.

“We are opening a new page and a fresh opportunity for our students. Students are definitely an asset to the school, but above all they are an asset to the city. I believe the agreement is to the benefit, especially of the students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, who know how to communicate, who are much more in tune with world trends, and are much more flexible to understand other cultures. As such they are especially useful for the Municipality of Tirana, especially this year when Tirana is the European Youth Capital,” Veliaj noted.

The Dean of the Foreign Languages Faculty, Esmeralda Kromidha, thanked Tirana Mayor for signing the agreement, saying the agreement is very important to the students.

“It is very significant for the Foreign Languages Faculty students to become part of your initiatives and youth policies, especially this year, as Tirana will be the European Youth Capital. It is a pleasure to share our projects with them, cooperation projects in research projects, conferences, professional internships for our students,” Kromidha said.
