TIRANA, January 28 /ATA/ The RENEA Special Forces held a training focusing on cases of aircraft hijacking.
RENEA Special Forces held for 4 day the training in cooperation with Rinas Airport (TIA), Rinas Border Police Commissariat and the Anti-Terror Directorate.
They conducted training on the airport runway and trained on how to solve a hijacking and hostage situation.
General Director of the State Police Gledis Nano closely followed the training at Rinas airport.
The training aimed to build the capacity of special forces to resolve similar real situations, based on the events that occurred at Rinas airport, such as the two real robbery cases of monetary values at this airport, where airport security was violated and the situation could have turned into hostage-taking.
During the conversation with the leading staffs of the special forces, Border Police, Anti-Terror and TIA, Nano stressed the great importance of this training and cooperation between these structures, in order to increase passenger safety and transport of monetary values.
At the end of the training, Nano thanked the staff and leaders of the Special Unit RENEA for the high physical and professional preparation they displayed during the demonstration of an improvised case of hostage-taking.
“The training you conducted is of particular importance, because the police must be professionally capable of responding to the crime, in whatever form it takes,” he said.
TIA representatives thanked the General Director for approving this training and praised the professional capacity of RENEA Special Unit staff. /r.e/p.s./
