PM Rama: Exponential increase of fish exports

TIRANA, January 26/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that Albania’s fish exports have increased exponentially.

The head of government also added that present-day Albania works twice as much as the agricultural land it used to 8 years ago.

In the activity held at the Ministry of Agriculture for the sovereign guarantee fund available to farmers to finance the collateral of agricultural loans, part of the support package of 4 billion ALL, Rama expressed his conviction that, “Today, Albania has the necessary opportunities of success, all the necessary examples, to demonstrate no longer in words, but in deeds what is the path of the future in the rural development of the country, what is the path of the future in the modernization of the agricultural production sector, in the modernization of the processing sector, of agro-processing and definitely in the increase of exports”.

PM Rama added that, “The saviors of the future are the ones who have made us highlight the success stories today. They are the ones who have exponentially increased the export figure in fishing. Today our fishing industry is a serious industry. And our fishing exports clearly show the transformation that the entrepreneurial character of that field has brought, which, thanks to a large number, but not a small number of actors involved, is turning into a great success story.”

On the other hand, the prime minister continued, “Exports in agriculture are also clearly a test of opportunities for success, because they are growing more and more. And practically today, we have two views of the sector. A picture that is the face of the future and a picture that is the face of the past.”

“We have a meaningful record today, I believe, among some of them. Today, Albania works twice as much agricultural land as it did 8 years ago. Double. And this increased production and these exports that are increasing are the result of a new established base”, said Rama.

“On the other hand, we are all aware that in the double area of land that is being worked on, there are still many problems related to backwardness and related to the chains of the past that need to be broken. And there is a great need for new synergies. There is a great need for innovation, there is a great need for technology and so on,” he concluded. /a.a/p.s./
