TIRANA, Jan 16 /ATA/ – The Ministry of Health reported Sunday that 5280 tests were conducted and 1697 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours in Albania.
A total of 935 Covid-infected people recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total of recovered coronavirus patients to 208,201 since the novel coronavirus outbreak in early March 2020.
Four more patients died of COVID-19 disease complications in the past 24 hours.
Ministry of Health said in its daily briefing that 148 patients are currently being treated at the COVID-designated hospitals, with 15 of them at serious condition.
Based on the Ministry of Health data there are currently 21,167 active cases in Albania.
The Ministry of Health appealed to every citizen over 16 to report to the nearest vaccination site and health care centre across the country to receive doses of the coronavirus vaccines as a way to avoid hospitalization and severe symptoms of the infection.
The Ministry also called on everyone not to ignore any symptoms of the disease and instead they visit the family doctor in order to undergo test or immediately dial the emergency line 127 if suspecting of any COVID-19 symptoms.
