“Maria” guesthouse in Labova e Kryqit, epitome of hospitality and tradition

TIRANA, Jan 4 /ATA/ The support provided for rural tourism as part of the Ministry of Agriculture programs has resulted in a guest house boom all across the country, propelling agritourism into development.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, shared on Tuesday views of the “Maria” guesthouse in Labova e Kryqit, Gjirokastra.

“The postcard from Labova e Kryqit features the Maria guesthouse as the first example of hospitality set up with the support given to rural tourism as part of agricultural programs. It is open to visitors, in a village steeped in tradition, magical geography and history of Orthodoxy, ” said Krifca.

Maria, the lady who inherits the house from her ancestors in this village, thanks to her initiative and support from the Agency for Rural and Agricultural Development, has opened the first guesthouse in this village.

Thanks to access roads completed in the upper Laberia area, the journey towards villages such as Labova, which is lesser known for local and foreign tourists alike, is much more convenient now.

The Albanian government in its third term of office aims to further increase support for citizens who will convert their home into a guesthouse.

For every emigrant who returns and invests in the house of his parents or grandparents, the government will disburse a grant of 5 thousand euros./m.m//a.a/sm/
