TIRANA, Dec 29 /ATA/ The National Agency for Information Society (NAIS) has reacted amid some unsubstantiated reports in online media, explaining that there will be no delegation to the private entity of e-Albania platform.
“The public consultation for a draft law on digital governance has started on October 22, 2021 based on the needs of the country due to the significant expansion of digital space. The new draft law envisages, among other things, the establishment of a public institution sh.a which will be subordinate to the National Agency for Information Society to regulate the relationship of services provided by NAIS to public institutions in the country “, explains NAIS.
NAIS announces that, “under no circumstances or proposal, the new institution will be delegated to any private entity, on the contrary, it will be subordinate to NAIS, the government. “Any work done by NAIS, in particular e-Albania, which is a national asset that provides over 1,200 public services to citizens, will never be under private administration”.
“The new draft law is designed to guarantee a better administration of the network maintenance service, internet service, Microsoft licenses, antivirus licensing or helpdesk service for public administration employees.”
“We appeal for accurate reporting on the side of the media which, despite the individual reactions of different persons, should double check the claims which in this case are not based as the draft law on e-government is easily accessible online in public consultation.”
“Also, it is very important to promote online services as a great opportunity for the country’s economy rather than disseminate false news”, concludes the reaction of NAIS.
