TIRANA, Dec 23 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama called on the Prosecution to thoroughly investigate the leak of data about the citizens’ salaries.
In a press conference, Rama said that, “I would like to talk about a very important decision regarding a new government initiative to increase and take to another level the interaction with the citizens, but today in the face of the payroll data leak on whatsapp communication channel, I am very clear that you will play down the significance of the initiative and in the meantime, the public will ask to know my position and of the government regarding this sensitive issue. So tomorrow we will probably outline the initiative.”
“While today we have invited you to talk about the event of circulation in whatsapp channels of data on salaries of citizens of the Republic of Albania”, said Rama.
“First of all, I want to apologize to all those who are rightly concerned about this interference in this aspect of their private life and in the meantime, I want to emphasize from the beginning that this is an incident that deserves to be thoroughly investigated ,” said Rama.
“I wish, hope and call on law enforcement agencies, the prosecution to conduct this investigation to the best of their ability. And on the other hand I want to share with the public that in my view, it is not difficult to see that behind this is a purpose, not so difficult to understand, to create confusion and to incite instability in an effort that is not new. And having in mind even the statements made from the rostrums of the Anti-Assembly Assemblies, it may not be the last “, underlined Rama.
Therefore, PM said, I call on the prosecution to expand investigation to anyone including tax inspectors, who have access to the payroll system, for work reasons. “Those who are currently working in this system or others who may have left this system in the meantime, in the period covering the data leaked until today, but also those who from the rostrums of anti-Assembly Assemblies warn of more turmoil.
