While Vjosa River overflows its banks, Armed Force units help local people, says Peleshi

TIRANA, December 12/ATA/ The recent heavy rains have caused the Vjosa River to overflow its banks at Mifol Bridge and cause a flood-plain in Novosela village.

While there is still rainfall, the roads get at times blocked because of snow or sediments that are brought on the roads together with flood water.

Under these circumstances, units of the Armed Forces got committed from the early hours of the morning to help the local people of Novosela village.

Defence Minister Niko Peleshi shared photos in the social media of the work done together with the relevant structures of the civil emergency in the regions of Vlora and Fier.

“Over 75 forces and vehicles are on the ground in the villages of Ferras and Novosela to prevent any danger to human lives and living things. The situation in other municipalities is being followed with maximum attention, where due to the rains that continue with high intensity, there are road blockages from snow or numerous river inflows”, he said. /m.m/j.p/p.s./
