“16 Shtatori” school, third education facility opens its doors in Peza

TIRANA, Dec 9 /ATA/ The “16 Shtatori” school in Peza e Madhe has been added to the list of 14 new schools, inaugurated within the first semester of this school year in Tirana, which were built back bigger and stronger after the damage caused by the devastating November 26, 2019 earthquake.

The inauguration ceremony of this new investment, part of the $ 5 million grant that the State of Qatar gave to Albania in the light of Reconstruction Program was attended by the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Reconstruction and Reform Programme, Arben Ahmetaj, Minister of Education and Sports, Evis Kushi, Qatari Ambassador to Albania, Ali Bin Hamad Ali-Marri, as well as the director of the Qatari Development Fund, Khalifa Bin Jassem Al-Kuwari.

Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj expressed his happiness that another school comparable to those in Tirana centre was added to the Peza community, thanks to the generous help of Qatari friends who responded to the government’s call for post-earthquake reconstruction.

“I am very proud that we managed to build back this school together with our friends from Qatar, who enabled us to deliver this school that Peza deserves despite the difficulties such as natural disaster, budget constraints and the pandemic restrictions. In Peza alone three new schools have been built: one in Peza e Vogel, one in Peza-Helmas, now in Peza e Madhe and a fourth one is under construction in Pojan. Three new schools have opened the doors in one semester in Peza, this is the second Peza Conference. ”
