TIRANA, Dec 1 /ATA/ Member of the Parliamentary Media Committee, also the Democratic Party deputy, Ina Zhupa, proposed banning the films and documentaries that glorify the communist period in our country.
We have the responsibility to mould the education of younger generations and to take stock of this event, debates of public opinion that are raging on social networks, in the media over the scheduled staging of “The Prefect” play by the National Theater, to spark once again not only the discussion, but also sensitize the institutional and legal opinion about a draft law that I will personally endorse, which is about prohibiting the films described by professionals as communist propaganda and tools of dictatorship from being screened on public television. “Cinema has been an instrument of communist propaganda and has been used to exercise their leverage known as soft power in addition to the cruelty demonstrated by the dictator,” she said.
Bringing to attention the DP legal initiative for decommunization and banning communist symbols, Ina Zhupa raised concerns about what is taught today in schools about the dictatorship period.
