TIRANA, Nov 27 /ATA/ The Albanian Road Authority (ARA) kicked off the action on all the roads countrywide to close the dangerous entrances and exits which do not meet the standards, turning into a source of accidents.
This action will start from the pass of Kashar and will extend in the direction of Durrës.
According to ARA, this action consists in closing them with metal side guards and opening side channels illegally closed by businesses on the side of the road.
The businesses that meet the criteria to continue their activity, but are not equipped with the relevant authorization for entry-exit, must get the paperwork done and apply to e-Albania. According to ARA, every project that will be submitted for entry-exit must be accompanied by a road safety audit report prepared by a certified auditor.
The head of ARA, Evis Berberi, said that out of 1300 entities that have access to national roads in the country, only 60 of them are licensed and have received permission to use the road. According to Berberi, all businesses have been forewarned of this action, while the applicants will be given permission if they meet the required standards.
According to onsite verifications, the 4 most problematic axes are Shkodër-Hani i Hotit with 224 entrances and exits and none of them equipped permit, Tirana-Durrës with 299 and only 31 with permits, Skuraj-Burrel-Peshkopi with 163 and none with permit and Rrogozhinë Lushnje with 126 and only 7 with permit. /j.p/sm/
