TIRANA, November 25/ATA/ Deputy Chairwoman of the Democratic Party Jorida Tabaku stated today that she will propose on behalf of the Democratic Party an amendment to reduce the VAT on food basket products from 20% to 6%.
In her speech in the Assembly, Tabaku said that in 9 years time the DP has presented 120 amendments.
“In context of the difficult economic situation, the unprecedented increase in prices, especially of food basket articles, the DP Parliamentary group decided that we should introduce an amendment to reduce VAT on food basket articles from 20% to 6% as “a means to boost consumption,” she said.
Tabaku added that food products in retail market have seen a 30% increase in prices./a.a/p.s./
