TIRANA, November 20/ATA/ General Directorate of Road Transport Service has started verification of vehicles to see whether they are up to the standards.
According to the Directorate, one of the databases to be used is certified by the prestigious German company TÜV Rheinland, with 150 years of experience in the global market in terms of certification (accredited by Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (DAkkS), the national accreditation body of the Federal Republic of Germany, member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF).
Beginning from November 2021, the Directorate informed that it will formally verify whether the environment criteria are met, but even for other technical indicators of the cars that are imported for the first time in Albania (used or new).
The Directorate took the opportunity to call on the citizens not to import any more cars that are below the standards because they will not be allowed to get registered or receive a license plate.
“The specialized verification sector has rejected 298 cars because they didn’t meet environmental criteria. Cheating with cars not allowed to get registered damage the local market , hurt competition and increase pollution levels of the Albanian Fleet”, said the Directorate./j.p/p.s./
