Amazing views of wild fauna in Mount Tomor

TIRANA, November 20 /ATA/ During the recent days, at the National Park “Tomori Mountain” in Berat trap cameras have recorded wonderful views of wild fauna in this park.

The Berat Protected Areas Administration posted images of rare animals that grow in this park such as the brown bear, the wolf and the wildcat.

“Being quiet and in a rich habitat that provides the necessities of life, these animals are growing in numbers from year to year”, said Protected Areas Administration Berat.

The administration called on the citizens to protect the animals from illegal actions that disturb and endanger their lives.

In the National Park “Tomori Mountain” during November were monitored over 30 species of mammals and some animals that for years had not been seen in the forests of our country.

Numerous animals such as brown bear (Ursusarctos), wildcat (Felissilvestris), wild boar (Susscrofa), marten (Martesfoina), fox (Vulpesvulpes), wolf (Canis lupus), roe deer, goat etc., were “captured” by trap cameras in the habitat of Tomori National Park.

The hunting moratorium has led to an increase in wildlife in protected areas in Berat in recent years.

Tomori was declared a national park in 1996 and then in later years, respectively in 2012 and 2019 it has experienced continuous expansion, until it has reached the current area of 26,106.2 ha. The predominant height of the park is 800-1000m above the sea level./k.s/j.p/p.s./
