Xhaçka: Kosovo membership in UNESCO, indispensability

TIRANA, November 10 /ATA/ Albania’s Foreign Minister Olta Xhaçka attended the 41st session of the UNESCO General Conference which coincided with the 75th anniversary of establishment of this organization.

Xhaçka took the opportunity to draw the attention to the issue of Kosovo membership based on the all-embracing approach.

“Kosovo membership would be not only the right thing, but it is a necessity if UNESCO’s real priority is to address the repeated claims regarding the preservation of cultural and historical heritage in Kosovo. There is no better and more efficient way to deal with the preservation of cultural heritage than through joint national and international efforts. Therefore, I sincerely hope that reason will prevail and Kosovo will be welcomed here, so that its citizens, Albanians, Serbs, and others, can join this great community and work together with other states in promoting the principles and values that unite us all “, said Minister Xhaçka in her speech./a.a/r.e/p.s./
