Smart cameras and intelligent drones on good management of territory

TIRANA, November 9/ATA/ “The system of smart cameras on the streets and intelligent drones are two other projects that will make a major leap for good governance of the territory.”

Prime Minister Edi Rama made the statement today during presentation of the 2022 budget for the Ministry of Interior.

PM Rama said that thanks to smart cameras, for the first time in operation in the Republic of Albania, we will have a real-time monitoring of all traffic on road axes.

According to him, “This will be a great leap for the good governance of the territory, for the rationalization of the energies of the State Police and for the final eradication of corrupt events”.

Likewise, PM Rama said that, “Intelligent drones will be available to the State Police and will give the opportunity to organize in real time the pursuit of wanted persons, identification of persons, up to their hiding in the forest and their body temperature.”

“Police can also organize rescue operations, along with emergencies, when people are left in the snow and do not have access to the network to be identified,” he said.

PM Rama said that, “All these are massive investments that completely change the capacity of the State Police to collect information, and the relationship of the State Police with the people, because there will be less and less direct contact”.

Also, the prime minister stressed that, “The fight against crime is the top priority, including all its aspects and is a front, where significant progress has been made, but where there is still much to do.”

“There is still a lack of the same efficiency, as for example there was with the operation ‘Force of Law’ or in general this part of the police organization, in the fight against financial crime, economic crime. It is necessary to put more forces there, to focus more attention and to create the conditions to achieve the same results as with all the rest that has to do with the fight against crime”, said Rama./p.s./
