TIRANA, Nov 9 /ATA/ Tirana Mayor, Erion Veliaj, held on Wednesday a meeting with 100 excellent students of Tirana public schools, to whom he donated a new bicycle.
Veliaj said that the photos of 100 excellent students will be displayed in Tirana in order to show the best.
“You are the winning team of “Tirana, the European Youth Capital.” You are our pride, you are the crown jewels of the city. Your photos will be posted on the city’s billboards and citylights. We should bring into the limelight our number one output, the boys and girls with top grades in the city of Tirana, ” said Veliaj.
The mayor asked the excellent students to lead by example in the city of Tirana. He said the change starts with them, how to keep the city clean, how to tackle air pollution by using more bicycles and fewer cars, as well as by helping those in need.
Veliaj stressed that “I want you to know that we are all part of an ecosystem, we either fall together or fail together. No way can some of you move ahead and the others are left behind. Treat us as an open-source platform which makes available all the knowhow and connections for you. “If you want to say thank you for my gift today, do it by tagging me in one of the good things you will do until December 31st and that will make my day.”
