Rama: Clean Albania, priority for third term of office

TIRANA, Nov 7/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Sunday from Vlora that the Action Plan for the large-scale cleanup of Albania is a top priority and all its components are where they need to be and the articulated experience is an added value for its implementation.

In his remarks in the light of the Action Plan for the large-scale cleanup of Albania launched in Vlora’s Soda Forest, Rama said: “I hope that many people will volunteer to take part in this process, just as I hope that all those who do not step forward and are in their own right will not cause pollution, and give more thought before dropping things on the ground, throwing them out of the car window, or leaving the leftovers after finishing a picnic, giving their children the most scandalous and criminal example as they see their parents drop their waste on the streets. ”

PM went on saying that clean Albania is the priority of third term in office. All these waste have not come from a force majeur, nor are they archaeological debris, they are accumulated pollution.

Rama went on saying: “Since I constantly follow the citizens that are active on social networks, the first thing that strikes me is the fact that when it comes to making comments, they are all environmentalists, but when I think how few of those who comment are environmentalists not only through words but also through acts then, I say that then everyone should take stock because being a patriot does not mean being ready to pull the trigger on Facebook nor being ready to fight for the homeland by commenting from the cafe or home, being a patriot means to keep your country clean, your homeland clean rather than trashing the reputation of your homeland. ”

“This blueprint comes out of multiple lessons learned over these years, the situation everywhere, even here, the situation a few years ago was much worse, yet it is way far from how Albania should have been and how it should be from the perspective of a country aspiring to become the champion of the Balkans in tourism based on all natural endowments, ” underlined Rama.

PM said that “this pollution harms the national economy and the well-being of each one of us not only in terms of tourism, but also in terms of the knock-on effects, health included.”
