Vaccination process against influenza begins

TIRANA, October 23/ATA/ The influenza vaccination process for medical staff began today to continue with vulnerable groups, such as the elderly and pregnant women.

Health Minister Ogerta Manastirliu closely followed the process of vaccination against influenza in the Medical Center No. 10 in the capital.

“35 thousand vaccines have arrived in the first batch of influenza vaccines, which have already been ordered for months by the Institute of Public Health, supported by the Albanian government. Just like every year, the flu vaccines are already included in our vaccination calendar for the risk groups”, said Manastirliu.

Emphasizing the need to carry out anti-Covid vaccination in parallel, Manastirliu said that the government is committed to providing influenza and anti-Covid vaccines.

“We expect that next week about 200 thousand flu vaccines will arrive in Albania, which will be distributed immediately in all our medical centers, to continue with our flu vaccination calendar and in parallel realizing the anti-Covid vaccination. These vaccines can be given in parallel,” said Manastirliu.

The Minister of Health said that in the first phase, health personnel will be vaccinated against influenza, but also the elderly with chronic diseases./m.m/p.s./
