TIRANA, October 19 /ATA/ Korça Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage has drafted the project for restoration of the roof of the “Vangjush Mio” museum house.
Minister of Culture Elva Margariti gave the news saying, “It is difficult to understand Korça without Mio, the master of Albanian painting, so we will return his museum house to the public. After the damage from the earthquake, Korça Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage drafted the project for restoration of the roof, which is even more damaged, eliminating all the moisture problems “, said Margariti.
For Margariti, “The world of Korça painter is there among paintings, blackboards and brushes, books he used to read and the workplace. It just needs to be revealed.”
For the ethnographic values it carries and for the fact that one of the most prominent Albanian painters was born there, this house has been declared a museum-house.
The house-museum of the People’s Painter Vangjush Mio is one of the most visited in the city of Korça./p.s./
