TIRANA, Oct 14 /ATA/ With the approach of winter, the low temperatures, snowfall and frost, especially in mountainous areas, render difficult the circulation of vehicles.
The Albanian Road Authority has come up with an action plan on road maintenance to guarantee a smooth and safe circulation of vehicles in all road segments countrywide during winter.
The action plan includes the mobilization of vehicles, snow ploughs and other heavy vehicles.
“We are prepared in terms of labor forces, tools and salt to cope with any situation. The winter maintenance period starts on November 15 and lasts until March 31, but based on the announcements of MeteoAlb for a significant drop in temperatures and the onset of snowfall in the mountainous areas, the work for the preparation of winter maintenance before the season is underway to ensure normal traffic on all national axes of the country, “ARA says.
