TIRANA, Oct 6 /ATA/ Civil society staged on Wednesday a protest on the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard in front of the Prime Minister’s Office condemning the price hike in the country.
The protesters voiced their opposition to the increase in price of essential commodities such as bread, staples, fuel and diesel carrying banners in their hands.
Civil society activist, Adriatik Lapaj, said that “this country needs to hear the truth of its people without any embellishment. The only way to solve Albania’s problems is to step up and speak out against price hikes.”
The protest was joined by the well-known humor actor, Florjan Binaj, who stressed that “we are all here to speak out against inequality that has befallen the citizens, because for every mistake made by the government we always pay. When we are wrong we pay for our mistakes, when the government is wrong we pay again. This is not right. “It is not right for the children we want to raise in this country, for all those young people who do not have the opportunity to buy their homes and raise a child.”
The citizens said that they have joined the protest to oppose the prices that are going up.
