TIRANA, Oct 6 /ATA/ Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, stated on Wednesday that the relief package that is being crafted by the government amid the global energy crunch takes into account not only the direct increase in the price of electricity, but also the indirect one.
At a media briefing after the government meeting, Ibrahimaj acknowledged that the crisis will have an impact not only on this year’s budget, but also on that of 2022.
“We are working on a complete package that takes into account not only the increase in energy prices in the country, but also the effects of the second round that could push up the prices in total. Rising prices are materializing all over the world. It has not spilled over into our economy yet. “We are carefully analyzing how the increase in the price of energy or gas will push up the prices of other products and the package will take into account both the direct and indirect effects of the energy price,” Ibrahimaj.
“The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy and other agencies are working to make a clear and efficient planning of the needs of the country. In the coming days there will be a clear picture of the needs for energy volume and the cost of financing to cope with this crisis. “Of course, this year’s budget and the one next year will also be impacted,” she said.
