TIRANA, Oct.5 /ATA/ The Secretary General of the Socialist Party of Albania, Damian Gjiknuri participated today in a working dinner organized by the Party of European Socialists- PES on the eve of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, which will take place tomorrow in Brdo Castle in the former Yugoslav republic of Slovenia, the country that currently holds the EU’s rotating presidency.
The meeting was hosted by PES President Sergei Stanishev and the member of the European Parliament (MEP), Tania Fayon. While present at the meeting were, the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti, the President of Syriza and the former Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras, the President of the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK), Fofi Genimata, representatives of the Social Democratic parties of Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting focused on mutual cooperation, implementation of the principles of solidarity and support throughout the COVID-19 crisis, and on the intensification of cooperation between left-wing parties as a front towards a more solidary Europe. //a.i/
