TIRANA, Oct 2 /ATA/ – With the road infrastructure rebuilt and a series of recent investments in tourism, the remote villages and hamlets in Kelmend, Malesi e Madhe in north-western Albanian district of Shkoder, are attracting a growing number of both local and international visitors.

The village of Lepushe, home to a stunning alpine landscape and some of the most breath-taking scenery in the region, has become an important destination, attracting a series of important agritourism investment projects.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Frida Krifca, during a trip to this village, conveyed together with Vera, a Lepushe resident, the increased interest of foreign visitors to explore rare mountainous landscape of the area.

“A growing number of visitors from England are exploring the mountains, caves, lakes located inside caves, hilltops and other endless beautiful attractions. This place is an unexplored treasure,” Vera says, inviting visitors to join the two-day event N’Altitude Festival and enjoy many other traditional, natural aspects this area has on offer.

The first edition of N’Altitude Festival features various events aimed at promoting tradition and the area’s natural resources.

A number of guesthouses and other agritourism projects have been developed through the assistance of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency in the past few years.
