TIRANA Sept 23 /ATA/ – By I.Vata/ The chairman of the DP parliamentary group, Alfred Rushaj, said on Thursday in plenary session that online meetings of parliamentary committees run counter to the regulation of Parliament and the Constitution itself.
After the adoption in parliament of the parliamentary committees, Rushaj said that the practice of parliamentary committees holding online meetings runs against the Constitution and Article a / 5 of the Rules of Assembly. According to him, the decision that parliamentary committees should shift to online meetings is null and void in his judgement.”
“The regulation is clear about the cases when Parliamentary Committees can hold online meetings. They are held in the event of state of emergency due to war or natural disaster. In the event of state of emergency, the Constitution and laws provide for restrictions and the bodies have the right to impose them.”
