TIRANA Sept 13 /ATA/ – By I.Vata/ The US ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, held on Monday a meeting with Independent Qualification Commission (IQC) commissioners.
Kim writes on her Twitter account that Albania needs a justice system that is professional, efficient and rid of corruption – not only because it is essential for joining the European Union but because the people of Albania deserve no less.
The United States will continue to strongly support implementation of justice reform, including vetting.
“I met with IQC commissioners to thank them for accelerating vetting of judges and prosecutors, despite the challenges. Vetting with integrity and independence is the foundation for justice reform in Albania. The process must be free of undue pressure, including attacks on commissioners,’ Kim said.
