TIRANA, Aug 31 /ATA/ The total of assets in the microfinance system reached the value of ALL 12.8 billion, at the end of July this year, the Bank of Albania announced.
Compared to a year ago, market assets expanded by 11.3%.
The microfinance sector managed to close last year with an increase of 6.3% and this year, the country’s largest economic recovery, is reflected in the accelerated growth of microfinance institutions.
Microfinance accounts for about 0.8% of the assets of banking system in our country. This sector mainly finances farmers and small businesses in rural areas.
They have so far proven to be one of the most efficient models of financing agriculture and SMEs. /j.p/sm/
