TIRANA, Aug 31 /ATA/ – The Justice Appointments Council decided Tuesday to ban three candidates from running to fill the Constitutional Court vacancies and ordered the suspension of the verification and evaluation of the three candidates, namely Sinan Tafaj, Dhimitrula Spiro and Saimir Vishaj.

“The Justice Appointments Council, after reviewing the acts and the procedure followed for the verification of candidates and the documentation to meet the legal conditions for candidacy, for each candidate included in the agenda, after hearing the opinion of the People’s Advocate regarding the procedure followed in the verification of candidates, decided to bar Sinan Tafaj, Dhimitrula Spiro, and Saimir Vishaj from running for a post as Constitutional Court members,” the Council said in a press release.

According to the Council overseeing the appointments to the new justice bodies, the candidates have failed to meet at least one or two requirements envisaged by the law and the Constitution.
