TIRANA, August 26/ATA/ The repairs of “Ali Pasha” Castle, in Tepelena and the roads within it, are turning this area into one of the most attractive tourist spots for local and foreign visitors.
Mayor of Tepelena Tërmet Peçi told ATA that the investments that the government is making in improving the infrastructure in this area are highlighting one of the important historical and cultural elements of our country.
According to him, the refurbishing works are continuing at an accelerated pace and so far about 95% of the works have been completed at “Ali Pasha” Castle and the roads inside it.
“The part in front of the castle has been cleared of illegal constructions and it will be part of the promenade paved according to the best standards. Meanwhile, the works in the inner part of the castle including the roads, lighting and canals have also been completed, and the project in the third phase is being closed, i.e. the facades of the buildings and the creation of small squares inside the castle so that to turn them into tourist spots, said Peçi.
The recent investments aim to transform this area into a high tourist potential with economic benefits for citizens, local and national economy.
As Tepelena turns into a hospitable station to explore nature, history, cuisine, etc., it also influences growth of businesses and employment in this Southern municipality. /j.p/p.s./
