TIRANA, August 16/ATA/ The new laboratory in the maternity hospital “Queen Geraldine” is opened. It is an investment made in the framework of modernization of the network of public laboratories.

Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu inspected today the laboratory in the maternity hospital of Tirana, where she stated that so far 10 new laboratories have been put into operation in hospitals.

“In a short time, we have extended in 10 public laboratories, while there are 18 in all hospitals, which are involved in this great project and which we will definitely achieve, I believe within September-October, to complete all 18 of these public laboratories, in order to be able to offer with standards and quality the range of the entire laboratory analysis “, – stated Manastirliu.

The minister of health stressed that the quality of testing in the network of 18 new laboratories will be the same, which will help citizens for fast and standardized service as well as doctors in their work to diagnose patients.

“The network of 18 public laboratories has the same standard in performing analyzes in terms of quality and safety. It is also much easier for doctors, because, having certified tests in all public hospitals, there is no need to repeat the tests and everything is safe, if performed in Fier, Berat or Kukës, they have the same certification and the same standard. It is a service that comes to the aid of all citizens, but also serves doctors, because they have a 100% guarantee that what comes out of the laboratory is standardized in all directions, “said Manastirliu.

The new laboratories are included in a digitization system, where all the tests performed on the patients are stored and the doctor has complete information about the patients. The new laboratory service at the Queen Geraldine Maternity Hospital is part of the modern network of public laboratories, in context of the Public-Private Partnership, which has increased the range of analyzes to 164 types.

Investments are being made in 18 public hospitals to provide quality service and expand the range of tests, increasing health coverage and reducing out-of-pocket payments for citizens. Through this partnership, it is foreseen to increase the volume of analyzes with standard and high security in the new network of public laboratories in the country./k.s/j.p/p.s./
