TIRANA, Aug 14/ATA/ Exports of Albanian agricultural products, mainly fruits and vegetables are increasingly being traded in the international markets.
In the 7-month period of this year, vegetable exports increased by 5.5%, compared to the same period of the previous year.
The Albania’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Milva Ekonomi said today that, in January-July of 2021, the export of vegetables is estimated at 5,833 million ALL, up from 5,531 million ALL in 2020.
The increase in agricultural exports is fueled by the investments made in the agricultural sector, especially greenhouse cultivation giving significant advantage to Albania.
Thanks to government support policies, exports of agricultural products have quadrupled.
Agricultural exports increased to $ 400 million at the end of 2020, up from about $ 100 million at the end of 2014, while exports are projected to reach over $ 1 billion in the next four years. //a.i/
