TIRANA Aug 9 /ATA/ – By I.Vata/ 51 chairmen, secretaries and coordinators of Women’s Democratic League in Korça’s DP have given their resignation.
51 chairmen of Korça’s DP branch accuse DP head Lulzim Basha of using clientelistic practices in the service of self-interests, denying their sacrifice in these years.
After stepping down from their posts, 51 chairmen of Sections and coordinators of the Democratic League of Women will be only members of the Democratic Party of Korça.
“Honorable Democrats! We, as Chairmen, Secretaries and Coordinators of the Democratic League of Women, express solidarity with the resignation of the members of Korça’s DP leadership and have decided to resign from our steering positions. We deem that the current party head is trying, with his arrogance, to turn the Democratic Party into a clientelistic body in the service of his self- interest. With his actions we think that Basha has denied all our efforts and sacrifices in the most difficult opposition the Democratic Party has ever seen in its history. In the face of these circumstances, 51 heads of Sections and Democratic League of Women are unable to exercise their leadership functions. From this moment on, we remain only members of the Democratic Party of Korça, ” the press release reads.
