TIRANA, July 29 /ATA/ The Chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha held a meeting today with Mayor of Bujanovac Nagip Arifi.
“Ethnic cleansing in the municipality of Bujanovac, Medvedja and Presevo through the so-called “process of determining the addresses of Albanians” in these three municipalities is the main problem the Albanian face. This is a discriminatory process, in total violation of the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia and its commitments within the Councils of Europe and in the framework of cooperation documents in the process of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia “, said Basha in a statement for media after the meeting.
Basha stressed that, “The DP strongly condemns and urges the Serbian authorities to immediately stop this illegal practice, while it calls on the European Union, the Council of Europe, the OSCE, the United States of America to do the utmost through direct pressure to stop this ethnic cleansing that has been happening for years now.
Asked by reporters about the meeting of Balkan leaders in Skopje, Basha said that, “I think that these meetings are taking place so often that we do not understand why they are taking place and what new things they are producing, except for photos and excessive political protagonism of those who are in these meetings.
“If we want the free movement in our region to work, we must put an end to hypocrisy, we must urgently work to eliminate the last threat to peace and stability in the region, which is mutual recognition between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia,” Basha said./p.s./
