TIRANA, July 23 /ATA/ – The Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection Mira Rakacolli called on every citizen to get vaccinated against the coronavirus and its new variants, saying the vaccine is the only weapon against the virus as the number of fresh cases in Albania has increased in the past few days.
“Taking notice of the increased number in new COVID-19 cases recently, more attention is required though growth in confirmed fresh cases in Albania is significantly lower compared to other countries in Europe and throughout the world. We need to act and take necessary measures to curb spread of new cases. Vaccination is the only way to prevent new cases. Everyone should report at the vaccination sites as soon as possible,” Rakacolli said in a TV interview.
She said that the epidemiological situation in the country is under control and the number of hospitalizations has declined.
“All the hospitalized individuals are over 60 and they are not vaccinated,” she noted.
