TIRANA, July 2/ATA/ New credit to the economy marked an increase in May of this year reaching ALL 15.5 billion, the Bank of Albania-BoA reported on Friday.
According to the Bank of Albania, new loans disbursed by the banking system increased by 64% compared to May last year.
In the first five months of the year, the banking sector has provided a total of ALL 84.4 billion in loans, marking an increase of 15.6%.
Meanwhile, the increase in lending in the 5-month period of this year was supported by loans to households.
According to the official data, new credit in this segment reached almost ALL 29 billion or about EUR 235 million. //a.i/
