TIRANA, June 29/ATA/ Police handcuffed 2 citizens and prosecuted 3 others on charges of arson in the Tomori Mountain National Park.
“After receiving notification that a fire had broken out in the Tomori Mountain National Park, Poliçan Police Commissariat immediately went to the scene and identified and handcuffed the perpetrators of the arson, citizens BM, 50 years old and ET, 32 years old, while the citizens BC, 41 years old, FM, 44 years old and P. Sh., 30 years old, all residents in Lybeshë, Poliçan were prosecuted”, is said in the notification of the Police.
“These citizens started a fire while they were collecting medicinal plants on Mount Tomori. As a result of the spread of the flames, an area of 10 ha of pine forest has been burned “, the announcement read.
The materials were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of Berat, for the criminal offense “Fire destruction of forests and forest environment”.
The Local Police Directorate of Berat appealed to all residents and shepherds not to light any fire and invited citizens to report to the number 112 and the Digital Commissariat, for any case of arson or illegality in its entirety, guaranteeing anonymity and prompt and impartial response from police structures. /a.a/p.s./
