“State Police does not punish, but detains”/Judges who have not passed the vetting, extends abusive rulings

TIRANA, June 29/ATA/ “The State Police does not punish, but reacts, detains and brings before the court persons who violate the law”, stated today in a press conference Prime Minister Edi Rama, while adding that in many cases judges who have not yet passed the vetting do not extend even the minimum punishment provided by law ”.

Asked about the state of crime and public safety in the country, Rama said that, “I am not worried, because in terms of crime trends or accidents, the limits are reasonable in relation to the general”.

“The events that took place recently are very shocking, but do not worry about tourists. The atmosphere of a place where tourists should not come because they risk being killed on the streets is on the screen, not in reality. The fact shows that tourists are coming, will come and there is no doubt in relation to their desire or bookings, because tourists do not come from the moon, they come from places where they live, where there are problems, even difficult situations and an event 2, 3 or 4 events in themselves tragic do not determine the level of security or the level of insecurity in a country”, said Rama.

Definitely, said Rama, we are not satisfied with our work, with the work of our structures.

“I do not know how the police can avoid an accident, the result of the madness of an individual on the street, or how it can be found after midnight in a place where two neighbors quarrel. Of course, beyond the two events, 3, 4 or 5 events, there are definitely things to understand and improve “, said Rama.

But, he said, “One thing we cannot change, the State Police does not punish, but reacts, detains and brings to court persons who break the law.”

“If the reason for a tragedy can be considered the fact that the persons involved in the tragedy have illegal weapons and certainly illegal possession of weapons in our country is punished more severely than in many other European countries, it is not the State Police that can lead to their imprisonment”, added Rama.

The prime minister stressed that the media should help unmask these judges, because there are scandalous facts that happen and the courts. And it is very good that we have not chosen to live in a democratic country, not in a country where the government makes the judge, the police and all together, said Rama.

The prime minister stressed that, “our part is clear in the continuation of the process of reform and strengthening of the State Police in the sense of continuous restructuring to achieve objectives related to age, integrity, performance of each and strengthening the Police of The state with technology, so that much in terms of monitoring the territory is done immediately.

“This is our way, we have no other way. When we talk about the state, it is the government, the police, the prosecution and the court. It is not a matter of blame, but breaking the law is a personal responsibility and not a collective one. Whoever violates it must be stopped and punished. If one of the links does not work, things become more difficult”, said Rama./p.s./
