TIRANA, June 25 /ATA/ –By I. Vata/ – Dozens of Polish visited the Tomorr National Park, a huge mountain in southern Albania, towering 2,416 meters above sea level and 25 kilometres from the museum city of Berat, one of the main Albania tourist attractions and most popular and year-round destinations for both local and international visitors.

A group of over 35 Polish tourists visited Friday the Tomorr National Park, walking along the trail from Tariko Fountain and the village of Qafe Dardhe, accompanied by Zamo Rafting Group, the regional Administration of Protected Areas in Berat said, adding that a growing number of foreign tourists are visiting the area following further relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions.

Mount Tomorr is the centerpiece and namesake of Tomorr National Park. It is home to both a local Bektashi temple and winter sports facilities. The National Park covers a territory of 24,723 ha and lies in east of the museum city of Berat. Resembling a natural castle framed by lofty peaks, it is snow-covered in the winter, and holds tremendous religious significance for the Abaz Aliu tribe which lives nearby. The Bektashi tribe also calls this area home, and organizes a large religious festival every August.

Berat, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of the most visited destinations in Albania. Tourists from all over the world explore the architectural style, cultural sites and other attractions such as the Canyons of Osumi River.

National Mount Tomorr Park is home to a diversity of flora and fauna, dense vegetation and different heights that offer stunning landscape of mountain and adventure tourism.
