TIRANA, June 25/ATA/Albania produces over 4500 tons of honey per year. The beekeeping sector has made a significant contribution to the economy, the Albania’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Milva Ekonomi said at the today’s meeting with representatives of the National Federation of Beekeepers Association.
“Beekeeping has seen a significant growth in recent years, according to INSTAT in 2020 alone, have been produced 4599 tons of honey,” Minister Ekonomi stressed.
“Opportunities are being discussed to increase support for the Albania’s beekeeping sector, Minister Ekonomi said.
National Agricultural Support Scheme 2021 provides subsidy up to 1 thousand ALL per hive for the farms that have not less than 50 hives).The National Scheme 2020 supported 1458 farmers with 358,365 hives nationwide who applied for funds for beekeeping. //a.i/
