TIRANA, June 22 /ATA/ – By B. Naska/ The Coordinating Council of Diaspora Teachers’ meeting that was held online focused on the importance of cooperation between volunteer teachers who teach Albanian language in the Diaspora in conjunction with Albanian institutions.
This is the third year in a row that the Publishing Centre for Diaspora sends textbooks for learning the Albanian language throughout the Diaspora. There are about 700 classes that enable the basic Albanian language literacy. Since it is not the same curriculum applied in Albania, this program is considered an ancillary curriculum.
These curricula target children from the age of 6 to 14, ie the basic language literacy.
This is the first meeting of its kind hosted by the Ministry of State for the Diaspora.
On the panel were representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo and the Ministry of Education of Albania who communicated with teachers from all over the world.
About 500 teachers around the world are involved in this teaching process, while thousands of students learn the Albanian language.
Present at this meeting, in addition to Ministers Majko and Kushi, was also the director of the Publishing Center for the Diaspora, Mimoza Hysa, who in an exclusive interview for ATA, states that, “today the Publishing Center for the Diaspora after two years of activity brings together Kosovo’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Albania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministries of Education from both countries and all institutions that have prioritized this process on their agenda. ”
