TIRANA, June 21/ATA/Opening of the auction for the construction of parks aimed at the production of wind energy is a good opportunity to attract private investment, the Swiss Ambassador to Albania, Adrian Maître.
Maître was present at the opening ceremony of the wind energy auction.
According to the Swiss ambassador, wind power generation creates the opportunity to reduce energy supply risks, as well as reduces costs.
“You are not diversifying in other ways, but you are developing the renewable energy. You are meeting strong standards to set up a low-carbon economy and you are making a contribution to tackling climate change. I congratulate you on this important step,” the Ambassador Maître.
According to Maître, the transparent process being carried out by the Albanian government better serves the goals of attracting private investment in this field.
“I am sure that the projects will be in full compliance with environmental and social standards. I look forward to seeing qualified bidders with suitable proposals,” he added.
The Ambassador of Switzerland further focused on the areas of bilateral cooperation, attaching great importance to the management of solid wastes, projects to increase energy efficiency in the provision of dams, etc.
